Death on Her Own Terms
Nancy Uden has been battling a terminal diagnosis of glioblastoma (brain cancer) for over a year. In that time she has received brain surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and experimental electromagnetic treatment. All of that has been an effort to provide Nancy with a high quality of life for as long as possible. There is no cure.
Since her diagnosis Nancy has advocated heavily in Minnesota for an End-Of-Life-Options Act, which would allow physicians to dispense life-ending medication to terminally ill adults with a prognosis of less than six months to live. Nancy doesn’t want her family’s last memory of her to be steeped in pain, hallucinations and suffering.
